Garth has 20 years’ experience in the in the timber processing industry starting and developing NSL from a small 4-person operation into the specialist timber treatment and processing company it is today, employing 54 staff across 3 sites.
He has a very strong focus on the long-term sustainability of the industry and am actively involved in addressing and managing issues arising from the current non-sustainable log harvest in Northland. Northland based sawmillers and processors have been in the forefront of highlighting this issue and developing strategies on a local and national level to mitigate the impact of log availability.
Garth's an advocate for product compliance and governance and believe in the development of industry standards which adapt to the changing regulatory environment, while continuing to ensure compliance is delivered.
He had a 12-year career in the New Zealand Police which equipped me with a wide range of skills resulting in a management style which is very hands on, but with a good understanding of the regulatory and legislative frame work which govern this industry.
